FURTHERING EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Far too many people are unaware of the importance of the hospice benefit in the continuum of care. Nearly half of hospice patients receive care for a week or less, when the benefit is available for the last 6 months of life. The Seasons Hospice Foundation funds educational programs to increase awareness about the hospice benefit. Studies show that when people elect to have hospice care, they actually live longer and have a better quality of life than those who opt for traditional end-of-life medical care*. In addition to providing funding for research and education about the value of hospice care, your contribution provides extra services for the comfort of patients and their families which extend beyond the traditional hospice benefit.
